Holiday

Far North Queensland is so beautiful, plants are so lush and green and there is an abundant of birds and animals.

This beach, Ellis beach, is the beach we visited every morning, the water was a tropical 24c, just like a bath.

Alice was unsure to begin with.

This little mountain stream met the sea, the children had so much fun here, damming the stream, trying to catch fish and tadpoles,
everyday was around 27c.

It felt like we had the beach to ourselves, so very peaceful and spoilt.

We really are the land of the Sun and the Sea.

No place like home.

We've just got back from a family holiday in far north Queensland for a couple of weeks. It was so nice and warm.

Sorry I forgot to say goodbye.

Home now, It's late and cold, quickly changed all the beds to warm flannelette sheets and extra quilts.

Pancakes with blueberries and icecream for tea.

A little bit of sewing.

Joey's top is made from wool interlock, made right here in Geelong.

He loves his Bugs Bunny in his racing carrot.

On Alice's tunic I thought I would smock a free form flower, And that's certainly what it is, oh well. Luckily she has no opinion on what I dress her in yet.

Every morning when we collect the eggs Alice checks to see if they are still warm!

The other side of Miss Alice

All my friends know that I love to cook, and I have always encouraged the children to help, every day whether baking a cake or chopping vegges for tea, there is always a child helping me.

This child, is, by far the messiest, even by my standards. I cringe at the thought of cooking with her and contemplate cooking when she is having her lunchtime nap...... but I don't, ultimately I know how important the sense of touch, taste and smell are to a child. Squishing the cake batter through the hands, I know, is important, but it's hard sometimes, and I nearly take the easy way out.

Luckily cakes are cooked at 200 degrees!

Apparently this is what everybody is watching on youtube, There's no way you can watch it and not be affected, I'm still crying.
Music, it nourishes the soul.
Love it.

Blue Sky and Crisp Morrnings

Spring springs,but autumn settles gracefully, nows the chance to plant our winter vegges without them going to seed. I love that this one still gets a kick out of planting our crop.

The middle two fought over the watering can, then over who had the butter knife, glad we had the forsight to put the sandpit in the middle of our vegetable mandala.

This one was happy as long as we could keep up the supply and demand of baby peas.

Hoping you had a lovely Easter break, we went home to my family on the Murray River, I'll post some photo's soon.

New Dress

I actually made this dress at christmas time, just finally getting around to posting it.
The fabric is pink pique, I adore bishop style dresses, they seem to me less formal, and they fit for longer. Now that Alice is walking we can do the dress thingy.
I picked up a couple of lovely petticoats at our annual school fair last week, my, they really do make dresses sit so much better.
